This website hosts blog posts, images, and information guides of our endevours.

    Creation

A lot of the initial website was written by me at the start of MIT’s IAP season. Rihn contibuted a lot to how the website aestetically looked. This website is hand writted in the hot new framework Sveltekit and hosted on MIT’s student run self hosting platform, Scripts. As of writing this, the website only really has basic blogs, but hopefully soon it’ll have guides (probably in the blog format). Creating websites is a pretty fun experience to configure the css and make things looks unique on a platform extremely open for the world to see. At MIT I studied pure Mechanical Engineering. I program entirely as a hobby on my own since it seems fun. #notacourse6

    Nerdy Technical information

Scripts was pretty hard to figure. It’s running on load balanced Fedora 20 Linux servers. Because scripts hosts many websites, I had to battle tricky documentation for Sveltekit to run as a custom cgi script and pass enviornment variables properly so that forms don’t cause a CORS error…

Other than Sveltekit I’m also using windicss (for fast css development) and mdsvex (for using markdown to write blog posts like this very one). In the future I’ll probably need to use Pocketbase to store more data or maybe SurrealDB if that gets a nice web interface soon.
